PreSonus Capture is a software manufactured exclusively for StudioLive mixers. This software seamlessly configures itsself to offer you all the features you need to make a live multitrack recording as perfect as your live performance. Moreover, it has several features. For example, there’s an automated virtual soundcheck, record lock, and a one-click recording. Every one of these makes it super easy to record your live performance. Overall, this software makes it stress-free: it arranges all your recordings in your hard drive by reconfiguring your recording sessions by name and date, structuring and organizing them by folders. With PreSonus Capture all you need to do is click “Record Now”—and it will start recording all of the inputs and a mix of your choosing.
PreSonus Capture’s Virtual Soundcheck
Virtual Soundcheck, specially made and integrated for Capute and the StudioLive digital mixers, allows you to open previously recorded session. This means that you instantly continue with the last mix you were working on. Plus, you can even save your session and create a new one with a simple click. If you do so, all your monitor mixes will be filed in to help you to be ready on the spot for the next gig.
This is the first live recording software of its kind! And it comes with a very unique and useful feature called the Record Lock. The Record Lock is an automatic aid that begins working every time you click record. In turn, it helps you prevent an accidental click or bump that could interrupt the recording. Additionally, another great feature is that PreSonus Capture will continually monitor your computer disk performance and disk space, which provides real-time monitoring.
The Wrap-up
PreSonus Capture’s user-friendly interface has all the controls and features in a single window. You can easily assign different colours to corresponding channels to help you identify recording sources. It’s integration with Studio Live Series III and an SD card comes very handily to take your SoundChek with you if you don’t want to take your big computer to the gigs.
