The 017 series, with its 017 TUBE and 017 FET capacitors, is the modern incarnation of the great vintage sound so loved in vintage microphones. With hand-stretched and machined capsules, all Soyuz microphones are, like the finest musical instruments, entirely handcrafted. Enabling detail to be captured with stunning depth, warmth, and silky transparency in the upper frequencies. These sonic characteristics allow it to complement the subtle nuances of vocals and strings while accurately capturing complex instruments.
Engineers used to spend small fortunes on vintage capacitors and struggled to keep them operational as they matured. Usually, unused models and reissues didn’t include the more famous features despite their hefty price tags. However, and unsurprisingly, fabricating procedures have changed, why shouldn’t they? The 017 series epitomizes quality with its combination of accuracy and sonic sweetness that has made vintage costs take off. It shines with its open top-end, smooth mid-range, effective low-end, and strong build quality.
The 017 Series Arrangement is comprised of a FET (field impact transistor) and tube (valve) fueled models. Despite the fact that the FET and Tube models are comparable – the two share indistinguishable capsules, frame variables, and sonic marks – there are inconspicuous contrasts between them. The 017 FET captures vagrant sounds faster with a tighter reaction. Meanwhile, the softer, tighter top end of the 017 TUBE caps sources that require warmth with a little more coloration. All in all, the 017 series brings a new bag of possibilities. Regardless of whether you prefer the FET or the Tube models, the 017 Series provides a quality experience.
