The PhaseMistress is an analogue phase shifter made by Soundtoys and features rich phase sweeps, a deep analogue vibe and tempo locked modulation. PhaseMistress captures the sound of legendary phasers and packs them in one single plugin to take effects to a mother lever. From guitars to disco drums, jazz-fusion keys and amazing rock vocals, phase shifting is a super versatile effect that has been used in countless records from the 60s and is still used today. Soundtoys has a real fixation with phasers, they have carefully studied them and nailed some seriously rich and silky analogue sound.
The PhaseMistress also has some features that are made to enhance de usability experience and creativity too. Sonbdstoys has added some deep tweakability and some inspiring rhythm tools. The PhaseMistrees is vastly customizable ad comes packed with several presets that can be easy to use and are hardware inspired. You can also control the phasing “circuit” to give a distinctive character sound. There are 69 preset styles that can alter the phasers internal structure, that range from a subtle stage 2, all the way to a wild 24 stages.
Fine-tuning the resonance and colour of the Mistress is easy. You can also tune the colour and intensity of the effect that you craft to its unique phase shifting styles. This plug-in is creative and versatile, you can choose from a multitude of creative LFO’s to go beyond what you will find on hardware. You can even draw your own curves to find some great sounds or push the random or step mode. With Rhythm mode, you can program pattern and with Envelope mode, the plug-in responds to dynamics of an incoming audio signal to make some funky sounds with drums, bass slaps or rhythm guitar sounds.
