Abbey Road Institute: the Two Main Roads

Abbey Road Institute offers two different courses. One is a Full-time Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering; the other is a Half-time program. Designed by the music industry for the music industry, these feature innovative recording techniques. Well-known sound engineers and producers teach them. Additionally, the full-time course aims at those who want to have an intensive program. In contrast, the part-time course is for those who prefer to combine their studies with their jobs.

The 12-month full-time course involves a workload of 40 hours, 20 of which are for self-study. To compare, the 24-month part-time course involves a workload of 20 hours, out of which 10 hours are for self-study. Regardless, class times and practice times are quite flexible for both modalities.

Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering

The Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering focuses on three main areas: first, music production; second, sound engineering; third and last, business. The course focuses on building constant knowledge and technical skills. Furthermore, history and theory are an essential part of the program. Also important are the softwares: ProTools, Logic, and Ableton Live are a must.

Outside the Classroom

Abbey Road Institute encourages students to participate in practical opportunities. For example, these include performance and composition workshops, as well as recording sessions.
