The MPC500 is the first portable MPC of its kind, developed and fabricated by Akai Professional in Tokyo Japan. This portable hardware machine will allow you to create and sample music whenever inspiration gets you. Its greatest advantage is that it is portable and made for the nomad producer. As a result, you can take it and use it wherever creativity strikes you. Taking it with you in your backpack along with your laptop means you can produce in any space. Moreover, you can transport the beats and productions you create with it to your computer via USB. Similarly, you can transfer them onto a CF card to download when you get back into the studio.
MPC500: Features
The Akai MPC500 has a 48-track sequencer integrated with a 32 voice stereo sampler. Incorporated to it you’ll find 12-velocity and pressure-sensitive robust pads to let your fingers transfer your creativity. You get 16MB of memory, which comes standard. Regardless, it could also become expandable to 128MB. Similarly, the CF card works like an MPC hard drive. With it, you’ll be able to transfer data freely from your MPC to your computer. Plus, if you want to expand your production studio, the MPC500 is ready for expansion. And it’s compatible with other MPCs to create your perfect music production platform.
You can power the MPC500 with 6 AA batteries. These you can replace for rechargeable batteries for better power lasting times (and to save some cash). Additionally, you don’t have to worry because it includes a wall AC adapter. Also, an analog I/O, MIDI I/O, and headphone output are standard. For an additional sound design to your track and beats, you’ll find two stereo effects and a master one. Lastly, the MPC500’s dimensions are 10.47″ x 1.73″ x 6.89″. And it weighs only 1.3kg! The analogue output levels are +10dBu and +5dBu.
