If you’re looking for a set of monitor speakers that packs good sound quality, has a small footprint, and a decent price tag, then Yamaha MSP3 monitors are a great choice for you. At first, they may look a little traditional and straight forward, but they aren’t. Even if they look “normal,” you’ll instantly notice that they feel robust. As a result, they give you the sensation that they’ll probably sound better than they look. The truth is that they do for their size. In the front panel, you’ll find four controls, low and high or bass, and treble fine-tuning. Additionally, there are two independent volume controls for different inputs.
Yamaha MSP3 Monitors: Features
On the back panel of the Yamaha MSP3 Monitors you’ll find a power switch and three inputs. Namely, the latter are an unbalanced RCA, an XLR, and TRC input. These monitor speakers are not really to go somewhere other than the side of your computer in a small home studio. Also, don’t expect them to light up a big party or anything. These monitors are active or powered meaning there is an independent amplifier for each speaker. For their size, they are a pair of competence active monitors, peaking at 20W. With the front panel controls, they’re practical and great if you want to connect in a DJ controller and some other separate sound source.
In our general point of view, you get what you pay for. That is, their make and design is a pretty durable one. Furthermore, they have gained their respect over the years by being a good sounding solution on the budget, particularly for a small setup or studio. Lastly, they’re also famous to last and last, so you know they’re a set of little monitor speakers that are a workhorse.
