The Nektar SE 25 is a small MIDI keyboard controller that is simple, yet powerful—and portable at the same time. It has a sleek design that blends in any music production desk next to the rest of your equipment. Similarly, it can easily be the only device hooked up to your computer. This controller has 25 keys, six control buttons, and Nektar DAW integration. Nektar developed a velocity-sensitive keybed designed specifically for small keys. In turn, this means that it is a small keyboard controller but it is a great platform for musical expression. On top of everything that we’ve just mentioned, it has three different velocity curves for you to choose. For example, it goes from letting you adjust the keyboard to your preferred playing style.
Nektar SE 25: Features
The Nectar SE 25 has an interesting feature that lets you toggle between two keyboards by pressing on one button. This is particularly interesting when you’re playing and switching between keyboard arrangements. Moreover, you can assign the same button to move the Octave or to select a MIDI channel. Even though this controller only has six assignable buttons, they’re quite profitable. With them, you can transpose buttons to pitch bend or even pan track. Plus, with the integration it has with the Nektar DAW, you can reassign the buttons to what you really use.
Currently, the Nektar DAW has integration with the following softwares: Studio One, Sonar Reason, Reaper, Mixcraft, FL Studio, Cubase, Logic, and Garage Band. Included in the box you’ll get Bitwig 8 track, which will enable you to start performing and recording right away. With it comes more than 50 instruments and effects on your music production projects. The Bitwig essentials package comes with loops and samples which you can make great compositions in no time. Plus, the Nektar Se 25 is USB compliant, so no drivers needed to run on your Mac or PC.
