Back in the 80s, we all have been drawn to the fantastic and special sounds of detuned synthesizers and the warm tape saturation gritty sample and spaced out quirky reverb sounds of movies and games of the era. Super VHS is a lo-fi generator that will add all of this flavour to your music productions in a particular and intuitive way. Baby Audio has set on a journey to find and capture the spirit of this era and introduce it into an interface that meets complex algorithms to enhance the power and controllability of its sounds.
The Super VHS plug-in features six independent knobs that are inspired by the VHS era. The whole design and looks of the interface are fantastic and it resembles the era perfectly. Regarding features, there is a Static knob selector that will generate static noise by its internal synthesizer, and a Heat knows that is an analogue tape saturation. The Shape knob is a sample rate reducer that has been inspired by 80s bit samplers and a Magic widening FX that is inspired by the famous Juno chorus but with a darker and deeper character.
Drift will shift the pitch by adding fluctuation to LFO giving unpredictable time and pitch shifting. The Wash knob is a bad hall reverb that is inspired by 80s rack units giving that characteristic grainy reverbs. This plug-in will set you back in time to the click of buttons all inside your DAW. With its six unique effects that come together on a versatile channel strip, the Super VHS will add authentic Lo-Fi sounds to whatever sound you run through it. Each of the effects has only one control but with multiple parameters that can be tweaked, giving you a wider range of results to shape your unique sound.
